Hepatitis B Vaccination

Since 1998, vaccination against hepatitis B has been mandatory for children before starting school. Students who may be exposed to infection during practical work or field exercises must receive the hepatitis B vaccination before participating in practical lessons or exercises in a healthcare facility. In accordance with the Vaccination and Medication Protection Program, the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia covers the vaccination costs for students who are at risk of exposure during practical or field exercises.

Vaccination is free for students until the end of their studies, but no later than their 26th birthday or until the end of the academic year in which they turn 26 (as long as they are insured through their parents).
